Amtrak Northeast Corridor Cornwells Heights, Andalusia, Torresdale and Holmesburg Junction April and May 2018
April 16 2018 Amtrak GP38-3 527 on the head end of the Tie Laying Machine at Cornwells Heights Station
April 18 2018 They have moved just west of the station and have been restocked with new ties. The yellow bridge plates between the flat cars will have to be installed before the gantries can run and they can get back to work.
By noon the train has almost reached the old Andalusia Station.
April 19 2018 Amtrak GP38-3 526 is back on the point and the tail end at Andalusia.
April 23 2018 Working through the east curve approaching Torresdale Station
April 24 2018 Superelevated curves are especially tricky for the TLM, as gravity tends to shift the old ties as they come off the conveyor.
Later in the day, just west of Torresdale, once again with the bridge plates off. The complicated geometry of the catenary is in full view.
May 3 2018 They have completed the portion between Grundy and Holmes interlockings, and will work next between Holmes and Shore.
