Railfan Pictures of the Week - 02/11/2018

SEPTA Lansdale Station Lansdale PA September 1 2017

It is the first day of September 2017. The night before our beloved Eagles had lost their last preseason game to the New York Jets, finishing with a 2-2 record, but inspiring much hope in the faithful fans looking forward to the season ahead.

Into Lansdale rolls a train of five Silverliner V's with four of them wrapped for the Eagles.

The wrap found on cars 709, 811 and 834 features "They Think I Can't. Just Wait" and Darren Sproles (torn ACL)
Cars 709 and 717 feature "Let It Fly Eagles Fly" and Carson Wentz (torn ACL and LCL)
Cars 703, 717, 732, 822 and 850 feature "Run Middle? Flea Flicker? End Around? Play Action? Hail Mary? Just Punt" with Jordan Hicks (ruptured Achilles)
SPAX 703, 716 and 721 feature "D-Line Making all stops" and Fletcher Cox (calf - missed 2 games)

Of the players pictured, only Fletcher Cox was able to finish the season, SEPTA's own version of the Sports Illustrated curse. But the words wound up applying to the entire team, and turned out to be extremely prescient in regard to the season, especially Super Bowl LII.

No one thought they had a prayer when Carson Wentz went down, so Nick Foles stepped in and let it fly.

Ironically, the Patriots tried all the other options but in fact never punted.

And if the defensive line did not make all the stops, they made the stops they needed to make.

SO FLY EAGLES FLY ON THE ROAD TO VICTORY.
