Railfan Pictures of the Week - 01/21/2018 |
Lansdale Station Lansdale PA January 13 2018 |
As part of the development plan for downtown Lansdale, the SEPTA busway and trail along Railroad Avenue has begun to take shape. |
A little over two years ago, it looked like this. Now they have installed new curbs and have begun to resurface the roadway. |
The trail runs to the left of the busway. It will be interesting to see what traffic controls will be installed at this busy and complicated intersection. |
On the other side of Main Street, the work on the Madison Lansdale Station development progresses. From here, the trail will deviate from the original route of the Liberty Bell Trolley, which ran right up the middle of Main Street. Instead it will run along the railroad, with the hope of eventually connecting with the Liberty Bell Trail back on the original route in Hatfield. |
The foundation of the first apartment building has been poured. Occupancy is scheduled for the fall of 2018, so if you are a railfan looking for a rail-adjacent residence, this may be what you are looking for. |
The trail will continue up to the water tower, for now. |
The view from the ground, but not for long. |
