Railfan Pictures of the Week - 09/10/2017 |
Amtrak Northeast Corridor Cornwells Heights Station Cornwells Heights PA September 7 2017 |
Other than the soon-to-be-replaced Bomber sets, SEPTA trains on the NEC are probably the least interesting thing on the NEC, except when things don't go as planned. Case in point: Train 733 heading to Trenton approaches Cornwells Heights Station with a five Silverliner IV consist. |
Moving at a pretty good clip, the white cloud trailing the train ... |
and the acrid smell of brake lining gave a hint to the reason for the speed. |
It appeared as though they were running a little too hot as it slid right past the station platform. |
The train fnally came to a stop a half a car past the handicapped ramp. After calling CTEC-6 and explaining the situation, the conductor got on the rear of the train so they could back up ... |
just enough to allow the passengers off through the rear vestibule of the last car before continuing on. Well, that was interesting. Let's not do that again. |
