Like many Class I railroads, CSX is disposing of some of its older equipment. Like many Class II railroads and shortlines, Pan Am Railways is an eager buyer of cast offs from the big boys. Already an owner of ex-PRR, NYC, PC, CR, NS, N&W, SCL, SBD, CSX, CN, KCS, TFM, SP ATSF, CRR, MILW and QNSL equipment, they have acquired a number of retired ex-CSX B40-8's, most derated to B20-8. Up front on CSX Q388 are four working engines: CW40-8 7920 (former LMS 702), AC44CW 160, and SD40-3 4025 and 4040. |
