Railfan Pictures of the Week - Throwback Thursday - 8/27/2020 |
SEPTA Main Line Jenkintown PA April 8 1996 |
Bad Day at South Jenk. An early morning R3 West Trenton train has done a number on the catenary on Track 1 through the station at Jenkintown, causing the cancellation of service from and to West Trenton, Warminster and Lansdale/Doylestown. The wire train powered by RL1 SPAX 60 on Track 2 is working with a high rail bucket truck on Track 1 repairing the damage while personnel secure what is left of the pantographs of Silverliner II's 259, 264, 9017, 216 and ??? as well as Silverliner III 223. On the south end, SW1200 SPAX 50 is coupled up and waits to bring the disabled train down to Wayne Electric. Note the unusual white roof on Silverliner II SPAX 259. |
