History:
Railroad incorporated April 12, 1904 as Ione & Eastern Railroad.
Opened from Ione to Mountain Springs in 1904, and to Martell in 1905.
Amador Central Railroad took over operations of the line on January 1, 1909.
AMC acquired by Georgia-Pacific Corp in June 1988.
Georgia-Pacific acquired by Sierra Pacific Industries in early 1997.
Last revenue freight run of AMC on March 28, 1997, and line shut down.
Line reopened as Amador Foothills Railroad in 1999 by Sierra Pacific Industries.
Because of poor track condition, AFRR made its last run on June 7, 2004 and line shut down.
