Railroad Days 2017
In Fullerton - May 6 &7
The sky was dark and threatening as I left home for Santa
Ana and the train depot. There was some mist in the air when I
purchased my Saturday Weekend
Day Pass at the Metrolink vending machine. It wasn't too long
until I boarded the 661 for Los Angeles at 9:20, stopping in Fullerton at 9:37am. Parking at Santa Ana and
taking Metrolink to Fullerton would save parking hassles in
Fullerton. Plus I would get in a nice train ride. Already on
board was Chris Guenzler, who was returning from an early
morning trip to Oceanside. Our plan was to meet in Santa
Ana and go to Fullerton, spend a hour and forty-eight
minutes there, catch 662 at 11:25
and go to Oceanside, then return to Santa Ana on the 665
arriving at 2:29 pm.
We arrived on time in
Fullerton at 9:37 am proceeded to use the bridge to cross over to
Tracks 3 and 4 for pictures. As we were crossing on bridge, we saw
our first train, a BNSF freight on Track 2.
