Roseville is the western terminal for
the UP snow fleet with numerous flangers and rotary snowplows.
Flangers look slightly odd being tall and slender.
Brother, have a traction motor.
It appears that the nose "patch" on SP 8726 has been removed.
Wow, it had two nose jobs.

Below left is the Art Deco style Tower Theater in Roseville.
This old steam engine used to power the fire train.
Curving along Atlantic towards Interstate 80.
At Rocklin, the rail line splits and rejoins at Newcastle. An
autorack train crew member watches us roll bye.
By this time, passengers were dining on a beautiful lunch of romaine
salad with boneless skinless chicken breast. I spent some time
chatting with Randy and Marie Jackson from New Mexico in the Silver
Lariat
