Two of the three credit unions.

Below left, the Black Employee Network. The BEN is a Union
Pacific organization which began in 1979 to promote
diversity, teamwork and networking within the community and
company. Working the booth are Sharon Smith and LaShanda Del
Balso. According to Ms. Del Balso,
"the object of our
table game was to get the coins in the cans affixed to the box. Winners
choose a prize from our vast array (bubbles, toy cars, dolls, etc)." LaShanda
seems to wear many hats, being an employee, active in BEN and also a
newly certified Operation Lifesaver presenter.

Above right is the retirement booth. To be able to retire
comfortably, one must have all their ducks in a row. There is
also a UP Employee's Club.

The U.S. Army had a booth as well. Railroads are active in
attempting to employ military veterans. Here, it appears the Army
was doing the recruiting.

Many railroaders are railfans too. The Colton facility was
originally a Southern Pacific installation, and here at the event was
the Southern Pacific Historical and Technical Society. Alaso
represented was the Union Pacific Historical Society.

Above, the third credit union's booth. The Colton Family Day
event featured many
prizes to be raffled off.

Emergency responders from the San Bernardino County Fire Department
also had a display.

The Car Department had a nice booth and real live, if not brand new
truck set.

Becoming an engineer or conductor is accomplished throught use of a
locomotive simulator.

Remote control belt packs, shown below, are in active use at the Colton
Yard.
