We will plan to meet Saturday morning at 9:00, July 10th, at the Columbine Inn on the north end of town. From there we will look at the Rio Grande yards and then proceed through town seeing the C&S tracks and the Colorado Midland. We will have lunch in town.
On Sunday, the 11th, we will plan to drive up to the Carlton Tunnel (Busk-Ivanhoe) and then hike up to the Hagerman Tunnel. Please remember to bring a light coat, water, and a lunch to eat at 12,000 feet.
If you have any old photos you would like to bring, we will try to figure out where they were taken. Also if you are in need of a motel, the Columbine Inn & Suites might be a choice, the number is 1-800-954-1110 for reservations. If you are going to camp we are still looking for a place we can camp together, but may end up at the campground at Turquoise Lake. We will let you know later.
