James Ashton was the first Baptist Minister in New Jersey. He married Deliverance Throckmorton on August 14, 1671. They had issue:

1. Rebecca (b. 1672).

Rebecca Ashton was born in 1672. She was the daughter of James Ashton and Deliverance Throckmorton She married David Stout in 1688. They had a daughter, Rebecca (b. 1727).
