D6700

Now part of the National Collection at the NRM. The loco was formally handed over at the EWS Old Oak Common Open Weekend on 5th/6th August 2000 after being restored to near original condition by staff at Thornaby TMD.

The loco can normally be found at the York headquarters of the NRM but is used for special events. The loco is due to attend the NYMR Diesel Gala on 4th/5th November 2000 and should work several trains.

Owned by the Class 37 Group the loco is currently undergoing extensive overhaul at the East Anglia Railway Museum to return it to as built condition.

Recently purchased by the Scottish Class 37 Group the loco is based at the Boness & Kinneil Railway where it is undergoing repairs to faults that lead to its withdrawal from traffic.

 

37029

Mainline registered and operated by the LNWR Co. This loco can be found on a diverse range of traffic from charters to "Rugex" specials to acting as "Thunderbird" for TOC's. When not in use it can be found at the LNWR operating base at Crewe Carriage Shed.

Based on the North Norfolk Railway this loco was one of the first class 37's in preservation. It has been restored to BR Green and regularly operates passenger trains on the NNR.

 

37038

This seriously loud locomotive is owned by Ian Riley Engineering and has been returned for operation on the mainline in tatty Civil Engineers yellow and grey. The loco is available for hire to TOC's and for charters and is a regular performer on the East Lancs Railway Diesel Gala's.

37075

Originally based on the Great Central Railway (North) at Ruddington, Nottingham the loco has recently moved to the Great Central Railway. Owned by Corporate Blue Traction the loco is in operational condition wearing Trainload Grey. It should see regular service on the GCR between Loughborough and Leicester on passenger and engineers trains.

Purchased from EWS by Type Three Traction. The loco is currently at Carnforth Railway Centre and is destined for a return to the mainline with sister 37158.

Based at Barrow Hill Railway Museum the loco is currently stored awaiting overhaul before returning to operational service.

This loco was purchased from EWS by Type Three Traction and moved from Wigan CRDC to Carnforth Railway Centre for an overhaul before returning to the mainline.

Based at the Midland Railway Centre under the wing of the Class 40 Appeal. The loco is currently undergoing an overhaul at Butterley before returning to traffic.

 

37194

Recently preserved, the loco is owned by Harry Needle and is currently in an operational condition at Barrow Hill Railway Museum. It is still in the same scruffy state in which it was purchased and moved from Old Oak Common TMD. Its future is unclear at the moment but is occasionally used for brake van rides at the museum.

Owned by Ian Riley Engineering the loco is currently undergoing an overhaul on the East Lancashire Railway before returning to traffic - possibly to the mainline.

Restored to BR Blue by The Growler Group, the loco is based on the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway at Toddington and is available for use on the railway as required.

Purchased by Type Three Traction for spares there is no hope of this loco ever turning a wheel under its own power again!

Recently restored to its former BR Blue glory complete with Scottish Salmon logo. The ex. Motherwell machine has undergone a radical overhaul from its previous guise as 37099. The locomotive is owned by Steve Beniston but under the care of The Growler Group.
