Rochester Area S-Gaugers - 2006 Spring Shows
Rochester Area S-Gaugers, Rochester, NY

Toy Train Collectors Society Shamrock Show
and
Rochester Institute of Technology's Model Railroad Club Show

The Rochester Area S-Gaugers have been invited to show our modular layout at TTCS and Rochester Institute of Technology Model Railroad Club shows several times now. The two show exhibited on this page occured in March 2006.

The action accessories on the layout are a big hit with "kids" of all ages, as it's set up to entertain them with
a rocket launched from a club-owned American Flyer rocket car (a great crowd pleaser),
dump logs from an operating car into a log pond then reload them into a gondola using a log loader accessory,
watch as an operating saw mill cuts logs into boards and loads them into a gondola and
load barrels in a gondola using the K-Line barrel loader accessory. (Louie the loader gets a workout at every show.)

There was a good turn out for the RIT show, so we got together for the group shot below.

This American Flyer 332DC Northern locomotive put in an appearance at the TTCS Shamrock show. This picture and the one above it were all that were taken at the TTCS Shamrock show because the battery in the camera that I was using went flat.

A new American Models 4-8-4 Northern locomotive

Everyone got a chance to see this new American Models 4-8-4 Northern that has been the subject of numerous posts on the Yahoo! S-Trains e-list. The cable from the tender became disconnected once but, it only took a few seconds to reconnect the connector and it was off and running again.

The Genesse -N- Ontario club had one of the smallest operational layouts at the show.

The sign in the lower right corner of this layout identifies this club as the

        GENESEE
MODEL -N- GINEERS
        ONTARIO

This layout was one of the smallest operational layouts on exhibit.

This G club had some of the largest rolling stock on exhibit. They set up this corner module like a diorama.

This "G" club had some of the largest rolling stock on exhibit. They set up this corner module like a diorama. There was also a live steam club that had models that appeared to be slightly larger than the "G" models shown here.
Almost every popular gauge/scale in between these two extremes was exhibited including the RITMRC's "HO" layout. The pictures in the preceding link were taken last October.

To see one of our former modular layout configurations, see our Batavia, NY show from November, 2003.

See Layout Description and History for more modular layout information.
