We held a work session at Paul Wachowicz’ home recently. Don Webster, John Ondesko, and Gregg Mummert attended. We cleaned and tested the 4x8 layout for the upcoming shows. Ask Paul about his “diving” AF 310 that John is repairing for him.

Several members attended the recent TCA show in York, PA. “L” had the new Challenger and U33C on display(not operating unfortunately) and they advised that both units will have “L’s” Legacy smoke and sounds. They also displayed a few Denver & Rio Grande passenger cars and some of the new freight cars. SHS had several table ofdiscounted engines and cars. They anticipate the Christmas cars to arrive the end of December or early January along with other products still in production. They are currently searching for another company to manufacture the Showcase Line.

Roger Delthony, Mike Gillian, Larry Asp, Don, and Gregg attended the recent Can Am S get-together in Lowland, ON. A total of about 24 S scalers attended the event. The S Scale Workshop FreeMo layout was on display and operating. There were some AF, AM, and SHS cars and engines for sale. Andy Malette displayed new kits he is producing. Alex Binkley had his completed NASG factory kit on display. Chris Abbott showed us “Anderson” connectors which are great for a modular or home layout. These connectors are less expensive and more versatile than Cinch connectors. The organizers are already planning next year’s get-together on October 16th, 2011. On the way home, Don and Gregg had to wait at the Welland Canal as an empty salt freighter headed back to Lake Erie. Check out some pictures from the event at".

In case you missed it, there was an article in the Buffalo News regarding the Heritage Discovery Center in Buffalo that involves the WNYRHS. Check it out at: and

Also, there were several articles regarding the new Heritage Trail in Lancaster… Where’s my bike?!

We set up the 4’x8’ layout at the TTOS show at the Leonard Post on 10/31. Dan Malkiewicz brought a kit-bashed Plasticville Union Station for the layout. You may see it again at Batavia. There are some pictures from the show at

We are setting up at the GSME show at Batavia Downs on November 14th. Due to space limitations at the show, we will be bringing the 4x8 layout instead of modules. Plan to bring a train to run and we can always use buildings, scenery, vehicles, etc., for the layout.

Our next meeting will be lunch at the Pegasus Restaurant in conjunction with the Agricenter show on Sunday Nov 21 at 1PM.
