Genesee Society of Model Engineers Club Show
at
Batavia Downs Race Track

The Genesee Society of Model Engineers invited the Rochester Area S-Gaugers and the Western New York S Scale Association to show our combined modular layout at their semi-annual train show held at Batavia Downs Race Track on April 15, 2007. For this show we set up our combined modular layout in a ten by thirty-two foot configuration.

The action accessories on the layout are a big hit with kids of all ages, as it's set up to allow them to launch rockets from a club-owned American Flyer rocket car (a great crowd pleaser), dump logs from an operating car, load barrels in a gondola using the K-Line barrel loader accessory.

This enjoyable event was made possible by using the NASG S-MOD Standards which enabled the two clubs to connect their modules both electrically and mechanically.

Western New York S Scale Association members are in the photos below except for Wolfgang Faust whose father, Jeff, is a member of the Rochester Area S-Gaugers Club.
The photos below were taken by Don Webster of the WNYSSA club.

An RASG accessories module mates to a WNYSSA module using the NASG S mod standards.

This photo is a good illustration of the NASG S MOD standards in use. On the left is a RASG accessory module with the unpainted side board. The module on the right is a WNYSSA module with its side boards painted white. The tracks are in good alignment and the electrical connections carry power around the layout from one module to another.

Paul Wachowicz, Don Webster, Lewis Cabello & Son, Dave La Graves, Bud Rindfleisch, Ray Abbott, Harold Morath, Gregg Mummert, Mike Barren, and Bill Barren of Western New York S Scale Association were present for this show.

There are photos of our modular layout from a previous GSME show in November, 2003.
