2006

There were enough activities in 2006 to make this summary sheet of our shows and e-mail communications useful.

November and December events

The following is a summary of club activities by Chuck Smith for the months of November and December.

The RASG has had a good November and December. We have been able to keep our layout set up in the back room of a storefront that houses an N gauge modular layout at a local mall in the Rochester area, the Medley Centre. It's amazing how much more we can accomplish when it isn't packed away between shows. We were set up out in the mall on Thanksgiving Friday. We also set up at the Rochester Institute of Technology field house for a 2 day show on Dec. 9th and 10th. The show was time consuming with Friday night set up, running for 2 days, and tearing down late Sunday afternoon. But it was sure nice wandering in and turning power on at about 9:30 AM for both mornings. The show was sponsored by the RIT train club and the students were very helpful in facilitating the unloading and reloading of modular layouts.

There is a photo of our modular layout set up in the RIT field house as 10' by 20' with Ted Larson in control. We finally got our yard modules in operation for hirail cars. Our closing frog turnouts still won't handle scale flanges without a little more work.

Our club website is at http://www.trainweb.org/rasg/. Club member Bill Johnson maintains it and will post some close up layout shots soon. (Webmaster's note: See the first show under the shows section below.) We may also have recruited a new member, which would be good news because we always seen short handed for shows. The modules are now back at the Medley Centre now thanks to the N gauge club and we are making some electrical improvements and doing general maintenance.

Rochester Institute of Technology
and
Toy Train Collectors Society
Shows

We set up our modular layout for the Rochester Institute of Technology's Tiger Tracks Train Show, at the Gordon Field House on December 9th and 10th. This show was expanded in both time and size. We have pictures and notes on this show.

We set up our modular layout for the Toy Train Collectors Society Fall Show, at Logan's Party House on September 17. We have pictures and notes on this show. It was a nice day and most folks were out enjoying the late summer weekend. Everyone that did attend seemed to have a good time.

We set up our modular layout at Logans Party House on March 5th for the TTCS SHAMROCK Show and on March 26th at the RIT Campus for the RIT Model Railroad Club show. We have pictures and notes on these shows. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
