Folkston, Ga; June 1999. NS inherited these C40-8W from Conrail. A few days after the
take-over, this one already received a number patch. It is also working
for the competition, by handling an empty UMP coal train through Folkston.
Hearne, Tx; September 1999. This trip to Hearne did not yield much until NS 8431, a former Conrail
C40-8W now freshly repainted for PRR, decided to show up right as the sun
was coming down.
