NORFOLK SOUHERN EMD 6 AXLES The later years Folkston, Ga; June 1999. Norfolk Southern inherited SD50s from SOU (NS6506-6525) and SD50S from
NW (NS6500-6505) a shorter version of the SD50. A few days after the take-over
of Conrail, this SD50 already got the renumbering patch, and is on a CSX
intermodal train to Jacksonville!!!
Macon, Ga; April 2000. Less than a year after the take-over, this SD50 formerly from Conrail
was victim of the spray gun.
Macon, Ga; October 2000. A friendly crew brings 6580, an original NS SD60, part of the
first order of SD60s ever, through Macon Junction and into Brosnan's arrival
yard.
Chula, Ga; October 2000. NS 6741, SD60I, still in its Conrail paint job is part of a light northbound
move of more than a dozen engines.
Duluth, Ga; June 2000. A year after the take-over, NS6803 SD60M former Conrail has escaped
the paintshop and is helping with a northbound freight on an early Sunday
morning.
Cordele, Ga; December 2000. Once again I picked the wrong day to hit the road. Fog remained heavy
almost all day. 6796, a former Conrail SD60M in its new owner scheme gets
assigned to NS 150.
Macon, Ga; October 2000. 2555, an original Norfolk Southern SD70 and part of the first order
of this engine, is on a Southbound freight through Macon Junction.
The conrail SD70s are now NS2558-2580.
SD80MAC are former Conrail and rarely venture in the Southeast. Photos
