Derailment and Accident Page 3 of 4.
A Conrail local out of Frankford Junction, Phila. Pa., had a minor
derailment late Friday 4/26/02, that blocked Aramingo Ave, near Castor Ave.
When I was on the scene at 0400 Saturday, they were just rerailing the last
2 cars. The crossing was cleared and Aramingo Ave was reopened at 0420
Saturday. The vehicle in the last picture belongs to the Conrail Police.
It was lucky that this derailment was minor and did not cause any week day rush hour blocking of Aramingo Ave, which is a major alternate for I-95.
