Restoration in progress on UP depot. Places to park along the tracks there. Be carefull because of the homeless people in the area. Old SP Herington sub connects to the UP KC sub at the depot. Good photo shots available of the Herington sub at the nearby Ks river bridge. The yard office is several blocks west of the depot and a public road for taking pictures of the locomotives sitting around. TOPEKA HOTELS | [North Topeka] Go one block west of Quincy to Kansas Ave and south to the tracks. If approaching from the bridge from the south hang a left at Laurent st and another on KS ave.
