Photo of the Month - November, 2003
On a clear day in mid-October, my family joined me for lunch at Nehalem Falls, almost directly in view of MP 823, for an afternoon watching the spawning salmon take on the falls. Despite the presence of a fish ladder just out of view, I was surprised by the number of fish that attempted the direct route up the falls instead. In a little over two hours, we saw at least 200 fish, ranging from giant coho and chinook to tiny trout. It was truly amazing! Photo by Jody Moore.
