The S.P.&S. operated through service in conjunction with both the Great Northern and Northern Pacific.  The following are cars that can be accurately modeled currently in N-scale using available car sides, kits and R-T-R models.  The list below are recommendations only, based on the best information that I have on-hand.  If you know of additions or corrections that need to be made, or know of suitable decals for lettering these cars, please email me by Clicking Here.

* - It should be noted that the Union Station Products are Craftsman-level kits.  Some clean-up of parts and assembly is required, and care must be exercised when assembling these sides because of the delicate parts.

Note 1:  SP&S 32, 307 - 309 and 406 are ex-MKT 1000, 1200, 1201, 1301 and 1100 respectively.  While the M&R car sides of the coaches and diner would help create a reasonable model of the car, though not fully accurate without modifications to the center skirt, the baggage - mail car lost some of its lower corrugation, with the sides being listed as a stand-in since the sides represent the car's original appearance on the M-K-T.  To create a more accurate model of car #32 some of the lower corrugation would have to be removed from the car side.

Note 2:  Intended for use on a Kato or Concor Budd corrugated dome - coach shell.

Note 3:  If the Athabasca Scale Models sides are used it will be necessary to add the Des Plaines Hobbies skirting to the bottom of the sides since these sides lack skirting, per the Canadian National prototype.

Note 4:  Originally coaches 303 - 305 were painted with Pullman green sides, black roof and four yellow stripes, one at the edge of the roof, one just above the window section, one just below the window section, and one at the bottom of the sides.  During the mid-to-late-60s the paint scheme was changed to having only a yellow window band in place of the four stripes.
