Note 1:  Sleeper cars of the SAL were named.  The following are the names within the specific series.  If you can help to match car names with roadnumbers please email me using the link above:

  • Beach-series 5 DBR - buffet Sun Room lounge cars had the following names:
18 Miami Beach   19 Palm Beach   20 Hollywood Beach

  • P.S. sleeper cars numbered 25 - 37 carried the following names:
25 Richmond   Birmingham   Columbia   Orlando   Portsmouth
29 Raleigh   Charlotte   Jacksonville   Petersburg   Savannah
      35 Atlanta   Norfolk   Tampa

  • P.S. sleeper cars numbered 60 - 62 carried the following names:
60 Boca Grande   Clearwater   Fort Lauderdale

  • P.S. sleeper cars having 70 - 75 carried the following names:
      71 Venice   Hialeah   Sebring
      74 Avon Park   Ocala   Tallahassee

Note 2:  In addition to the USP car sides you will also need some way of creating the roof mounded windows.  If you have a suggestion about how to do these, please email me using the link above.

Note 3:  The SAL's PS 10-6 sleepers were unique among the many that were built, as they were built with Budd-styled roofs to better match the various Budd-built cars that had already been rostered (a set of A.C.F.-built 10-6 sleepers also featured matching corrugation on not only the roof but on the letterboard area also).  It is left up to the modeler to determine if such would be used and how to add such a detail.  If you have a suggestion about how to do this, please email me using the link above.  These cars were renumbered for SCL 6610 - 6614, 6617 - 6620, 6623, 6625, 6626.
