* - It should be noted that the Union Station Products are Craftsman-level kits.  Some clean-up of parts and assembly is required, and care must be exercised when assembling these sides because of the delicate parts.

  • Note 1:  While Kato and Concor both offer Budd Slumbercoach models they will require that the skirting be modified.  N.P. Slumbercoaches apparently did not have skirting, while others apparently had skirting removed when relettered.

  • Note 2:  Individual names of the Lock-series Budd Slumbercoach sleepers:
325 Loch Sloy   327 Loch Lomond   329 Loch Tabert   331 Loch Long   333 Loch Tay   335 Loch Arkaig
326 Loch Leven   328 Loch Ness   330 Loch Katrine   332 Loch Locky   334 Loch Rannack   336 Loch Awe

  • Note 3:  The NP's original Budd cars had slightly modified window patterns from what is found on the Kato model.  These cars are mentioned purely as a reference.

  • Note 4:  Dome - sleepers 307, 308, 311, 312 and 314 were rebuilt in 1967 to having 4 Roomette - 2 Single Room - 4 Double Bedroom with a buffet replacing two of the single rooms.

  • Note 5:  These cars were built as a part of an order by Southern Pacific.  When originally built the cars were painted in Cascade two-tone gray but were later repainted in imitation stainless steel with a red letterboard stripe after SP had adopted the Sunset paint scheme for the majority of its passenger car fleet.  These cars carried "NORTHERN PACIFIC" lettering in both paint schemes.

  • Note 6Slumbercoaches 330 - 333 were ex-B&O, 333 - 336 were ex-NYC
