The following are cars that can be accurately modeled currently in N-scale using available car sides, kits and R-T-R models.  The list below are recommendations only, based on the best information that I have on-hand.  If you know of additions or corrections that need to be made, or know of suitable decals for lettering these cars, please email me by Clicking Here.

Operations of streamline passenger trains involved Missouri Pacific and two of its subsidiaries, the Texas & Pacific and the International Great Northern, with cars from both lines becoming MoPac by the late-60s.  Many of the cars did not survive until Amtrak with a large number of cars either retired and scrapped or sold to Mexico by the late-60s, and a few cars that were not wanted by Amtrak were sold to commuter operator New Jersey Department of Transportation, which later became New Jersey Transit.

* - It should be noted that the Union Station Products are Craftsman-level kits.  Some clean-up of parts and assembly is required, and care must be exercised when assembling these sides because of the delicate parts.

Note 1:  All of the MoPac Lines lightweight sleeper cars carried names.  The following is a list of names and numbers assigned to various cars.

  • Eagle-series sleepers carried the following numbers and names:

  • Eagle-series sleepers carried the following numbers and names:

    Note 2:  The Kato Budd California Zephyr dome - coach would be appropriate for modeling these cars, though modification to the skirting may be necessary if an accurate model is desired.

    Note 3:  Either the Concor or the Kato Budd Slumbercoach model can be used to model this car, but it will be necessary to remove the skirting beyond the vestibule area for the model to be truly accurate.  This car was later sold to Northern Pacific.
