The following are cars that can be accurately modeled currently in N-scale using available car sides, kits and R-T-R models.  The list below are recommendations only, based on the best information that I have on-hand.  If you know of additions or corrections that need to be made, or know of suitable decals for lettering these cars, please email me by Clicking Here.

Below is a list of links for the manufacturers featured on this page:
American Limited Models M&R Models Union Station Products*

It should be noted that in addition to the items mentioned below that M&R Models also offers two additional sets that would be of use to both MKT and Frisco modelers.  Set #60-93 has a variety of roof detail parts to help make accurately detailed cars, while set #60-94 is for the E7A stainless steel fluting that was used on those units on both roads, prior to Frisco rebuilding the E7A's carbodies to better match their E8As.  For contact information, please see the M&R Models Master List.

* - It should be noted that the Union Station Products are Craftsman-level kits.  Some clean-up of parts and assembly is required, and care must be exercised when assembling these sides because of the delicate parts.

Note 3:  The M&R Models sides are designed to represent The Texas Special cars.  SL-SF 251 and 252, and 1253 - 1258 could be modeled using the M&R Models sides listed above even though they are not fully accurate for these cars.  To be more accurately model these cars it would be necessary to remove the small initials plates at the ends of the letterboard, though as is the sides are fairly close.  (As a suggestion, though not at all prototypical, a modeler might go ahead and use the initials plates to put "SLSF" initials since the main letterboard would carry the name "FRISCO" in lue of trying to grind off the plates.)

Note 4:  MKT's only Budd RDC car, #20, was a Phase II car with corrugation extending over the vestibule doors and onto the ends of the car, along with a high headlight casting.  This car is listed for reference purposes only.
