* - It should be noted that the Union Station Products are Craftsman-level kits.  Some clean-up of parts and assembly is required, and care must be exercised when assembling these sides because of the delicate parts.

Note 1:  These cars did not remain in service very long and were subsequently sold to Atlantic Coast Line, Illinois Central and New York Central (NYC cars later sold to B&O).  The following names were used on the P.S. twin unit diners, the Kitchen following the name on the kitchen - dorm cars while the Tavern followed the name on the table cars:
Botsford Caldwell's Gadsby Hanover Michie's Postlethwait's Swan

Note 2:  The 2500-series cars did not remain in service very long on the C&O with some were subsequently sold to the B&O.  The few cars that remained were rebuilt to dorm - dining cars (C&O 1923 - 1925), which may be possible to model using these sides, though it will be necessary to fill-in some windows.  It should be noted that there is no suitable core kit but it may be possible to start with a MRC/Rowa/Concor model, removing the sides and ends and replacing them with these sides.

The following names were assigned to the Club-series P.S. 5 DBR - buffet lounge B.E. observation cars:
Allegheny Club Bluegrass Club Ohio River Club Tidewater Club
Blue Ridge Club New River Club Shenandoah Club Wolverine Club

The 2800-series cars remained in use on the C&O into the late-60s, when some of the cars were sold to the Seaboard Coast Line (see the ACL - SAL - SCL page for more info.)  Cars in this series were assigned the following names:
Greenbrier Homestead Monticello Mount Vernon Natural Bridge

Note 3:  The 2600-series City of cars were purchased as a part of a very large order for passenger cars by the C&O, with many soon being sold to the Atlantic Coast Line, B&O and IC (the cars sold to ACL retained their lower side corrugation while some cars sold to the B&O and all cars sold to the IC were delivered with smooth sides).  The following is a list of cars known to have wore their C&O numbers and names:
2600 City of Alexandria   2611 City of Richmond   2627 City of Frankfort   2638 City of Clifton Forge
2601 City of Roniverte   2612 City of Waynesboro   2628 City of Lynchburg   2639 City of Logan
2602 City of Montegomery   2613 City of Staunton   2629 City of Maysville   2640 City of Beckley
2604 City of Charlottesville   2614 Virginia Hot Spring   2630 City of Newport   2641 City of Charleston
2605 Old Point Comfort   2621 City of St. Albans   2631 City of Covington   2642 Traverse City
2606 City of Newport News   2622 City of Huntington   2632 City of Portsmouth   2644 Bay City
2607 City of Pikeville   2623 City of Marion   2633 City of Alderson   2645 City of Fostoria
2608 City of Williamsburg   2624 City of Ashland   2634 City of Hinton   2646 City of Phoebus
2609 City of White Sulpher Springs   2625 City of Lexington   2636 City of Grand Rapids   2653 City of Holland
2610 Yorktown   2626 Town of Thurmond   2637 City of Hampton   2654 City of Winchester

Note 4:  These Budd RDC cars had the Phase II carbody with corrugation on the ends and vestibule doors, and the raised headlight casting.  Currently there is not a conversion kit available for modeling this version and they are mentioned only as a reference.

Note 5:  The Lazor Horizons sides for the 2600-series P.S. 10 Rmt - 6 DBR sleepers, 2800-series P.S. 11 DBR sleepers and the 1950-/1973-series twin - unit dining cars are smooth sided, but modeler's could use the Union Station Products P.S. corrugation or the M&R Texas Special EMD E7A corrugation to add this detail to the lower sides of the cars.

Note 6:  Diner - coaches 1610 and 1611 were rebuilt from 52-seat P.S. coaches with a dining room being placed in the coach section nearest the vestibule and a kitchen going into the bathroom area of the car.  No exterior changes were made during the conversion.
