* - It should be noted that the Union Station Products are Craftsman-level kits.  Some clean-up of parts and assembly is required, and care must be exercised when assembling these sides because of the delicate parts.

Note 5:  9003, 9004 were modified RDC3s being rebuilt with an expanded mail compartment in place of the baggage section.  9015 and 9016 were phase II RDC3ms having no baggage section, an expanded mail compartment, and the wrap-around corrugation on both ends and the built-up headlight assembly.  At present there is no way of modeling these cars in N-scale and they are mentioned only as a matter of record.

Note 6:  It should be noted that car 481 Pacific Shore was painted in bright red paint with a wide yellow stripe below its window sections, and italics "ROCK ISLAND" lettering like that found on some commuter coaches, the only intercity passenger car to be so painted.
