* - It should be noted that the Union Station Products are Craftsman-level kits.  Some clean-up of parts and assembly is required, and care must be exercised when assembling these sides because of the delicate parts.

Note 1:  These Western Pacific cars were originally used on the California Zephyr.  For more information on the cars please see the WP page.

Note 2:  These sides are intended for use on the Bachmann Budd Big Dome model.  As is, the Bachmann dome model is reasonably appropriate for an A.T. dome since it has the large letterboard, modifications would be required if the M&R Models sides are used.

Note 3:  While Brass Car Sides offer these sides for creating a U.P. dome - lounge (and the earlier dome - lounge observation) there is no suitable core currently available for building these cars.  They are mentioned simply as a matter of record.

Note 4:  Cars 580 and 582 were originally built as 16-section sleepers and were rebuilt, circa 1962, to 48-seat leg-rest coaches by the CB&Q, D&RGW and WP.  AutoTrain rebuilt these cars to table cars for use with former SCL/ACL/C&O twin-unit diners.

Note 5:  This side kit is useful for creating an ex-U.P. smooth sided Ocean-series car, though the skirting should be removed.
