Pullman HW hospital ward car - ex-Pullman HW 6 comp - 3 DR sleeper converted to U.S. Army hospital ward car. Based on the fact that only two 6 - 3 sleepers were rebuilt to hospital cars this car is either Shelley (U.S. Army 8943) or Saxe (U.S. Army 8944). (R. UNDERWOOD)
Formerly operated by the St. Louis Car Co., these cars now have been sold to the Kansas City Southern and are awaiting resale or rebuilding for use on the KCS Office Car Specials.
