Welcome to the Greenville (South Carolina) Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. The engines above plied the rails in Greenville and the Upstate of South Carolina during the first half of the 20th Century. On the left is Greenville and Northern Railway 2-8-0 number 15 in front of its engine house, both engine and building have long been scrapped. On the right is Piedmont and Northern 5103, an electric freight box motor. This picture of 5103 was taken after the engine was repainted at the River Junction P&N shops in Greenville SC and prior to donation to the Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth Georgia. Today 5103 is on display in Spencer North Carolina at the North Carolina Transportation Museum.
