Schomberg & Aurora Ry.

Schomberg & Aurora operated independently until 1904 when it became a subsidiary of
Toronto and York Radial, part of the Canadian Northern. It was electrified in 1916.

Carhouse and shops Deer Park. Built c.1904 - 1910 Closed February 1922 following takeover by TTC.

Reopened February 7, 1925 following formation in 1924 of the Badminton and Racquet Club of Toronto.
Structure destroyed by massive fire February 14, 2017

Metropolitan station in North Toronto was located at Yonge Street and Birch Avenue
on the north side of the CPR whose station was on the south side. Circa 1905.
Note the sign boards advertising the CNE in Toronto and the Newmarket Fair.
From here radial cars operated north to Richmond Hill, Aurora and Newmarket.
The line was later extended to Jackson's Point and Sutton on Lake Simcoe.
