Sudbury - White River, Ontario 400 miles.

A look back more than half of a century to this service through northern Ontario.

VIA 195 eng. 9022 sits for a 15 minute meal stop (vending machines only)
at key part way point of Red Deer its mere half-car of seats sufficient.

Its daily two trips each way schedule of this fast Calgary - South Edmonton service
(192 miles 3 hours 30 minutes), simply could not compete with the
more frequent highway coaches plus private cars (and pickup trucks!)
on a good highway. Careless motorists were a constant threat at
level crossings and many collisions resulted!

A full two years after acquisition by VIA 9022 is still in full CP Rail paint scheme.
