Modesto & Empire Traction in Modesto, California was long a stronghold of GE 70-tonners.
Mobil Grain acquired (8/2011) most of their fleet (7 units) when growing traffic required heavier power.
Soon replaced by heavier SD's with 70-tonners used to switch elevators at
Aylesbury, Bethune and Craik, Saskatchewan.
