At this time the Sudbury-White River schedule required two sets of equipment for the daily except Tuesday service.
Two of the rare RDC-4 (all baggage) 9250, 9251 and two RDC-2 combination cars 9108, 9112 were assigned to
Sudbury for these trains as well as a single RDC-3 9023 for the Sudbury-Soo service.

First of eight RDC-2's converted to RDC-5 and assigned to Montreal Suburban service.
9302, 9303, 9305-9309 converted 1975. 9301, 9304 numbers not used.

Baggage doors filled in and transit style seating added in baggage room. Total 86 seats.

Note: This car was one of the last two "Budd Cars" left on roster.

Renumbered 91 11/1978 it would be used in OCS first for Maintenance of Way
and later Public Affairs. Finally being stored at Calgary in 1996 until
donated 2008 to Alberta Central Railway Museum, Wetaskiwin, AB.

91 in community service at Revelstoke, BC in 1986. It was brought west to use as transport for the
Boy Scouts and Girl Guides in Revelstoke to Mountain Creek in the heart of the Beaver Valley near Rogers Pass.
The boys and girls were undertaking a tree planting project in the area which was under construction.

 


VIA

More than half of a century later service is still operated tri-weekly by VIA Rail Canada
400 miles between Sudbury and White River through remote northern Ontario using identical "Budd Cars".
