S-2 and S-4 539 1000 hp.

7988 ex 8135 displayed at the Toronto Railway Museum (CRHA Toronto & York) at Harbourfront.
This museum later became defunct and the collection dispersed to several locations.
7988 was in good running condition except for condemned wheels. It was scrapped.

7985 in an interesting scene at Bathurst Street yard looking southwest. MLW 76459 1949.
What is even more interesting is the photo of 8132 below. It is the same engine!

Note: 7975-7994 (20) were the first MLW built units 3-6/1949 and the last CNR S-2 units.
Renumbered 8122-8141.

Note: First order S-4 model. 8002 #76488 9/1949 (re# 8149) was first unit built with a diesel built in Canada by
Dominion Engineering Works, Lachine. Prior to this MLW used standard McIntosh & Seymour, Albany engines.

Note too the newer style trucks often referred to as AAR type A replacing older S-2 ALCO Blunt trucks.
