ZWT = Zero Weight Transfer trucks.

All units modified 1986-87 reducing fuel from 2500 gals. to about 1000 gals and sand reduced about 25%
lowering weight from 260,000 lbs. to 248,000 lbs. to work branchlines, locals etc. replacing RS-18's.
Sub class A had no rear numberboards which were added with these mods. B&C factory equipped..
Basic wrap-around pilots added to rear of A&B sub class while C's came factory equipped.
Renumbered 3500-3589.

Late 1994 reductions restored to 260,000 lbs. without renumbering.
