COGEMA

La Compagnie de gestion de Matane Inc. (COGEMA) belongs to CN since 2008. COGEMA provides freight ferry-rail that carries the shuttle on the St. Lawrence River between Matane and Baie-Comeau, Quebec, and other ports on the north shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, including the Port of Sept-Îles since 2009. The capacity of the ferry is 25 rail cars. The addition
of this terminal unloading allowed a significant increase in the use of rail ferry. Rail transhipment increased by 85% in volume
in 2010, between Matane and Sept-Îles. Nearly 100,000 tons of cargo, mainly consisting of heavy equipment for mining, crossed the river by rail in 2010.
