Dofasco's railroad (known as the Internal Transportation Dept.) operated (circa 1980) on 34 miles of main line
with more than a dozen units maintained in their own diesel shop capable of major overhaul work.

Only two Alco's were ever on Dofasco's roster. Here they are: S4's 23 (ex N&W 2070 nee NKP 70) #79526 1/1952 and 22 (ex 2050 nee 50) #78701 1/1951 bought 8/1974 and 7/1974. Later, 4/1979, 22 was converted to a slug controlled by 23 and then 23 became a slug c.1985. Between them in this February 1975 scene is JV-1 the LRC demonstrator, a Joint Venture of Montreal Locomotive Works and Dofasco. Reg Button
