Northern Railway of Canada
City
Hall station opened June 10, 1867 on the Esplanade East between Jarvis and West
Market Streets.
It replaced the station at Brock Street. Closed March 1,
1893. Demolished circa 1894. Ontario Archives
Notes: The track in the
foreground deadended on Jarvis Street and ran across the Esplanade continuing
west.
Toronto's first City Hall was located between the same two short
north/south blocks and one block to the north
on the south side of Front
Street East. It still remains as St.Lawrence Hall.
