CPR North Toronto Team Tracks
North Toronto team track west side of Yonge Street, opposite North
Toronto station, looking south west.
Team tracks were a public place used to load or unload freight by customers
not having a private siding.
Note The Elias Rogers Co. coal yard with elevated track to unload coal
of various kinds.
Ontario Lime, supplier of building supplies. A team and wagon is nearby.
Team tracks mostly taken up by CBM facility handling sand, gravel,
cement (in covered hoppers) etc.
Note the CBM self-propelled crane unloading
gondolas of sand. Likely this sand came from Paris on the CP Electric
Lines (LE&N) interchanged at Galt and brought to Lambton Yard by
a Galt Turn powered by a P2 class steam engine.
Other gons would go on the Transfer to Parkdale Yard for the Wharf engine
to take to CBM at Fez City.
Note the station tower at left almost hidden by trees. Looking east.
