CN Canpa Interlocking Tower

 

Commissioned May 1, 1952 replacing old CPR tower on south side of CNR Oakville Subdivision.

Closed 0326 Saturday, July 21, 2012 after installation of new CTC signal equipment in a bungalow.
Canpa switch for CPR Canpa Subdivision north track (westward) removed July 18th.

NOTE: CPR ended operation on the Joint Section between Bathurst Street and Hamilton Junction effective May 2009.
It had begun in May of 1897 with Canadian National predecessor Grand Trunk.

While no longer staffed it contains signal equipment put in place with CTC installation for the start GO train service.

CN Canpa tower, long unused, it replaced the old wooden CPR tower.
Starlite is westbound for TH&B Aberdeen Yard, Hamilton, June 4, 1987, 1910 hours.
