Houses

This house at 599 Annette Street, one block west of Runnymede Rd. (south west corner) was built in 1889 for the C.P.R. Parkdale Yardmaster. No doubt he was being transferred to the new West Toronto Yard and moved closer to his work. Photographed in 2002. R.L.Kennedy

This house at 324 High Park Avenue in West Toronto was built in 1901

"Dog and Pot" boarding house at Mavety Street (One block west of Keele Street) east side just south of Dundas next to the West End Theatre (formerly, Mavety Theatre) at 215 Mavety. (Ma vee tea) Said to be used by CPR men at one time.

Once a smallpox epidemic started here and medical authorities quarantined and used it as an isolation hospital.

Note: Dog and Pot refers ironmonger's sign of an indiron, commonly called a fire dog, and a cooking pot.
