Spaghetti
Factory Car
# 911 |
This car is not a true
streetcar. It never saw a day in revenue service except
for in a restaurant. It is a replica car was built by and for The Old Spaghetti Factory of Charlotte, NC.
After the restaurant
was closed, the car (in kit form) was shipped back to Portland, as
Portland is the Headquarters for the
Spaghetti
Factory.
The
Spaghetti Factory realized that the custom built car was
not ADA compliant so they offered it to the OERHS as a
donation. The OERHS gladly accepted. The car is better
then anybody imaged.
The museum built a shelter for the car and
added windows and end doors. This car served as a temporary interpretive
center and gift shop for the new
museum until the extension to the Brooks Depot was opened in 2006.
911 is in the location of the museum's
future Interpretive Center. Sometime in the future 911 will be moved to a
different location along the museum right-of-way.
