WEATHERING HEIGHTS

The following are some basic materials you’ll need to get started;

1.     Some inexpensive water-color brushes. Sizes 2, 4,& 6 Maybe a flat 1/8” & ½” if you like.

2.     Some Q-tips.

3.     Weathering Powder Grimmy Black, Medium Earth, Fresh Rust, Dark Rust, and Chalky White, or

4.     Some rusty earthen stick chalks. (Not oil based.) A good art store will have a large collection of “Nupastles” that come in a wide range of earthen colors, including 7 shades each of Warm Grey and Cool Grey, at about 2 bucks a stick. If you choose the sticks, you’ll have to bring an Exacto knife to shave them into a powder.

5.     A Spray Can of Dull Cote.

6.     And , last but not least, a CHEAP Rolling stock car. (Preferably an un-built kit.)

The rest we can fake.

PS

Those of you who want to weather a car at the April 9, ’08 Clinic please put a coat of “ Dull Coat” on your car before you come. This will get you started faster.
