Remarks:     W192 was the very first locomotive built by NZR in1889. It is still owned by NZ Rail Ltd. and is steamed on occasion. It was a simple and effective design clearly developed from the 'J' class 2-6-0 and quite a large locomotive by the standards of the day in New Zealand. Both locomotives were intitially used on the Wellington-Summit section of the Rimutaka incline with grades of 1 in 35 and were also used to assist the 'H' class Fell engines on the 1 in 15 grade section.
