Remarks: In 1933, the NZR purchased these two locomotives from the Public Works Department and were used in ballast maintenance and grade easements. No 537 worked until at least 1948, while No.341 was sent to Otahuhu Railway Workshops in 1942 for storage. Both engines were scrapped in 1954. No.537 had short side tanks, while No.341 had extended side tanks and was slightly heavier at 8.5 tons. |
