Cycle Systems EMD GP30 #2907 Scrapyard Switcher Roanoke, VA. July 23, 2005 Oops! This derailment resulted when the brakes were bailed off of the cycle Systems Shop Switcher on a downgrade. The engine then rolled down the hill, over the scale, and crashed through the barrier holding the terrain back from a street. #2907 is an ex-N&W, nee NKP GP30 built without dynamic brakes and with the bell mounted in the nose. The unit was in original N&W Paint as recently as 2004. |
