In this class you may complete most of the requirements for a new Girl Scout Railroading badge offered by the Pines of Carolina Council. This will not be a gift. You will be given a workbook which you will use during the course to record completed requirements. You may then complete the few remaining requirements with your troop and be awarded the badge by your troop. There is also a simple test at the end of the course.
Questions regarding the course should be directed to JR Fisher at jrfisher@nc.rr.com
Register - first come, first served
This badge is newly offered this year for Girl Scouts of Pines of Carolina Council. This is not a Pines of Carolina Sponsored Event. Be one of the first to earn it! Please note that the prior years the Boy Scout Railroad Merit Badge classes have filled rapidly. Registrations have now started.
Scout leaders: Please do not attempt to reserve 'spaces' in the class. Reservations are not accepted for un-named Scouts. Reservations are personal commitments by Scouts who have an interest in this topic. It is a full day, interesting for those who want to be there, tiresome for those who do not. If Scouts must later cancel because of illness or a change of plans then their slot will be filled by the next Scout on the waiting list. But, in the interest of not wasting seats, substitutions for last minute illnesses will be accepted at the door for an additional processing fee of one dollar. Questions of completion should be directed to the course registrar.
Troop Leaders will also be asked to help minimize no-shows by reminding the Scouts to attend or provide a timely cancelation notification to the Registrar. This courtesy reflects on the honor of the troop and Troop Leaders should want to help with this.
